Hi! I’m Diane

Hey there! Welcome to my website! My name is Diane and I am so happy that you are here!

If you are supporting young learners and want them to grow socially, emotionally, and academically, you are in the right place.

I am the educator and writer behind One Giggle At A Time, a space created to help teachers, parents, and homeschool families feel confident nurturing social-emotional skills and building positive learning environments. My work is rooted in the belief that children learn best when they feel safe, valued, and understood.

Many educators and families turn to One Giggle At A Time when they want social-emotional learning support that is developmentally appropriate, engaging, and easy to implement.

I bring over 30 years of experience teaching first grade, all in the same school community, where no two years were ever the same. During that time, I saw firsthand how strong routines, meaningful relationships, movement, and joy can shape confident, capable learners. Those experiences guide everything I create today.

I hold an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, and I now focus on designing practical resources, lessons, and strategies that actually work in real classrooms and real homes. Everything here is meant to save time, reduce stress, and help you support the whole child.

I believe social-emotional learning is not an extra. It is the foundation. When children feel connected and supported, they are more willing to learn, take risks, and grow. That is why you will see laughter, movement, and relationship-building woven throughout my work.

Outside of teaching and creating, I am a wife and a proud mom of two amazing sons. I am an avid reader, an enthusiastic nap taker, and a firm believer in finding joy in the journey.

If you are looking for guidance, encouragement, and practical tools to help children become kind, confident, and well-rounded learners, I am honored to support you along the way.

My love of teaching and creating

Supporting children as they grow socially and emotionally has always been at the heart of my work.

I have been a teacher-author on Teachers Pay Teachers since 2014, creating classroom-tested resources designed to help educators and families feel confident supporting the whole child. Opening my TPT shop was one of the best decisions I made because it allowed me to connect with a global community of educators who value collaboration, creativity, and meaningful learning just as much as I do.

Knowing that my lessons and activities are being used in classrooms, homes, and homeschool settings around the world is truly humbling. That connection with teachers and families inspired me to also open a shop here on my website so I can continue serving this community in a more personal and supportive way.

Because teaching is never one-size-fits-all, my resources span a wide range of needs. I create materials that support social-emotional learning, social skills, classroom management, family communication, and core academic areas, along with activities that bring joy, movement, and fun into learning. Everything I design is meant to be practical, engaging, and easy to use in real-life settings.

Along this journey, I was inspired to begin writing children’s books. I have now written three books, all created to support social-emotional learning, strengthen social skills, and nurture the emotional well-being of children. Hearing from families and educators about how these books have helped children feel understood, confident, and prepared for new experiences has been one of the most meaningful parts of my work.

Each resource and book I create is rooted in the same goal: helping children feel safe, supported, and capable as they grow.

🥺🥺🥰🥰 My students will forever be an extension of w 🥺🥺🥰🥰 My students will forever be an extension of who I am. They each had the ability to teach me as much or more than I taught them. Each year I send Happy Mail to my former students who are now graduating from high school and continuing on with their life journey. Many of them still attend school in the same district, but often times I need to do a little research to find where they are now. Either way, Happy Mail goes out each year at this time… and that makes my “teacher heart” so happy!🥰💌📬#gratefultobetheirteacher
